The Ford Focus RS Will End Production In April

Arriving in 2016, the RS came late in the life of the third-generation Ford Focus, which first hit the market in 2011. With an all-new Focus launching later this year, Ford has announced that RS production will come to an end on April 6th.

On the plus side, the last fifty right-hand drive RSes will be different, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Escort, and the introduction of RS brand to the UK, in style.

The Heritage Editions will leave Ford’s plant in Saarlouis, Germany plant wearing Tief (Deep) Orange paint with black forged alloy wheels, grey brake calipers, plus black door mirrors and rear spoiler. Inside, there’s partial leather Recaro seats and carbon fiber trim, plus a mechanical Quaife limited-slip front differential and power upgrade from UK tuner Montune.

If all this sounds familiar, it’s because it’s based on the Focus RS Race Red Edition that debuted last year.

Red or orange though, these final RS hatchbacks pair a mechanical differential with 370 horsepower 376 lb-ft of torque on overboost, thanks to having a high-flow induction kit, uprated turbo re-circulating valve and an ECU tune.
