Southern California-based Tesla tuner Unplugged Performance has released a new front fascia and spoiler product to make the older Model S sedans look a little more like the newer ones. For $2,995, current Model S owners can get a front end that looks a lot like the facelifted version that arrived this spring. New-car smell not included.
Unplugged Performance’s Model S Refresh Fascia Upgrade, which was announced Wednesday, gives those Model S owners what it says is “an opportunity to experience that new car feeling once again.” In short, the kit removes the black nose cone and integrates the front spoiler. It gives the cars a smoother front fascia that’s in line with the updated Model S, as well as the designs on the Model X crossover and upcoming Model 3 sedan. And while it’s not an exact replica of the Tesla part, it comes pretty close.
There’s a $500 discount for pre-orders received before July 1. And the company offers “guaranteed” compatibility for Model S sedans produced from 2012 until May 2016. Take a look at Unplugged Performance’s press release below.
We’ve been writing about Unplugged Performance for the past couple of years. Founded in 2013 and based in Hawthorne near Tesla’s Southern California facilities, the company calls itself “the world’s first tuning company with a focus exclusively on the Tesla Model S.” It sells everything from wheel packages to front and rear spoilers to diffuser systems to side-skirt sets, with full kits running north of $6,000.
