Highlights from the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show

The greatest auto show in the world has come and gone. If you were not one of the car enthusiasts salivating over the upcoming 2019-2020 hot rods in person, do not worry. The captivating cars worth mentioning are listed below. Here are the most significant highlights from the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Rivian RS1 

Rivian is paving the way for electric vehicles. For those who have never heard of the brand or have yet to take California traffic school, Rivian is an automotive tech company that manufactures electric cars. They released their electric SUV during the Los Angeles Auto Show and left a shocking impression on attendees. The Rivian RS1 has all the capabilities of a SUV with the 400-mile range of electric charge. 

2020 Jeep Gladiator  

If you own a Jeep Wrangler and thought “I wish this was a pickup truck instead,” then you’re in luck. Jeep unveiled the 2020 Gladiator model. This vehicle combines everything you love in a jeep with the jarring exterior of a pickup truck. Whether you love it or hate it, this vehicle will be market ready spring of 2019 and may or may not be on the list of best cars for CA teen drivers. 

Kia Niro EV 

Kia showcased their upcoming all electric crossover. The Niro EV has a familiar electric engine that provides 201 horsepower and 291 lbs. of torque. This crossover model will also reach upwards to 240-miles travel distance on a full charge. Kia also equipped this model with a futuristic style that compliments the vehicle’s high-tech functionality. 

Honda Passport 

Honda showed off their revitalized Honda Passport model for a new 2019 release. The Passport varies from Honda’s SUV models by having the capabilities necessary for rugged outdoor adventure. This model has a 2019 update that expands the cabin room, boosts the torque, and increases the power traction to tackle any off-roading terrain. Honda has pivoted this model to be a perfect supplement for those who were disappointed by the new Jeep reveal. 


The Mazda3 was unveiled with an updated, sleeker design. Based off the “Kodo” design, Mazda has improved the aesthetics of their new release by making it slick, shiny, and quick. The speed control helps the driver reach their ideal velocity at a moment’s notice. The brand hyped the vehicle design and functionality even more by stating that the Mazda3 “marks the new generation of Mazda cars.” 

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT R PRO 

Mercedes-Benz presented their AMG GT R PRO, a sporty coupe during the LA auto show. This roadster has improved aerodynamic design allowing it to navigate the roads and pick up velocity more efficiently than earlier models. They even applied racing stripes on the hood and side panels to make you feel like a speed demon. 

Porsche 911 Carrera  

911 isn’t just the model designation, it’s what every old person will dial when they see you driving through their neighborhood. The Porsche 911 Carrera combines luxury and sport. The model will hit 60 mph in 3.3 seconds with 443 horsepower. This car comes with a timeless design that you can own forever at the low, low price of $113,300.00. 

2020 Lincoln Aviator  

Hindsight is 2020. That’s what Lincoln thought when they designed their newest Aviator model. This vehicle takes into consideration the utility of an SUV and the desire for luxury. As a result, they produced a car that has style, class, and functionality. Along with this, they equipped the vehicle with EV tech that can efficiently utilize a charge and store it for long term use.
